Landing zone selection

Setup

pick a spot 10-30m from the hole and mark the position with the tee

use 10 balls or more ( optional )

choose the position where there is plenty of green where the ball can roll towards the hole.

choose at least 3 clubs or more (most lofted wedge you have, PW, 8i, ...)

take 3 additional clubs and place them on the green where you would like to land the ball with 3 selected clubs ( Lofted wedge , PW , 8i or 7i )

use the following percentage distribution for each club:

Wedge - 70% flight / 30% roll

PW - 50% flight / 50% roll

8i/7i - 30% flight / 70% roll

Hit 10 balls with one club and try to land the ball on selected landing zone for each club. If the ball land inside selected landing zone but not finished inside 3ft wide radius around the hole then change landing zone.

Goal

Try to land ball inside selected landing zone and also inside radius around the hole

Note: you can use more than 10 balls to get better and more accurate results. Remember that less lofted clubs will roll more on the ground than more lofted clubs, so select wisely landing zones for each club

You can use this test also for different types of shots or distances and you can also use different clubs as well.
